Tiger, tiger

My last art-work in pantone, ink and wax crayons, inspired by the William Blake's poetry:

Tiger! Tiger! burning bright 

in the forests of the night,

what immortal hand or eye

could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies

burnt the fire of thine eyes?

On what wings dare he aspire?

What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, and what art,

could twist the sinews of thy heart?

And when thy heart began to beat,

What dread hand? and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?

In what furnace was thy brain?

What the anvil? What dread grasp

dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,

and water'd heaven with their tears,

did he smile his work to see?

Did he who made the Lamb made thee?

Wedding board bookshelf

Yesterday, my friends Chiara and Marco got marrided.

For the dinner party they asked me a board which write names of tables and guests on. The theme of the party was: "books that man and wife love" so I managed to make the board looking like a bookshelf.

In the first photo you can see the original board before we wrote the name on.

I used waterpastels (Faber-Castle) but at the end I liked the result so I didn't use water and brush to watercolorize them.

In the second photo there is the board with all the names on; we decided to write them on common paper (printed by a computer printer) so we could correct the names at the last second, just in case guests would change their idea about coming or not.

Ieri i miei amici Chiara e Marco si sono sposati.

Per la cena mi avevano chiesto di realizzare un tabellone su cui scrivere i nomi dei tavoli e quelli degli invitati. Il tema della cena era 'i libri più amati dagli sposi' così ho disegnato il tabellone in modo che ricordasse uno scaffale di libri.

Nella prima foto potete vedere il lavoro originale, prima della scrittura dei nomi.

Per realizzarlo ho usato i pastelli acquerellabili (Faber Castle), ma, dato che alla fine mi piaceva il risultato così com'era, non li ho acquerellati.

Nella seconda foto c'è il tabellone completo dei nomi; li ho scritti su carta comune e stampati con la stampate del computer, così da poter apportare le solite, classiche correzioni dell'ultimo minuto dovute a conferme o defezioni inaspettate.
